Exotic Residence House in Singapore : The Fish House

The Fish House is an exotic residence designed by Guz Architects and located in Singapore. The main idea behind this home was to ensure a connection with nature and with the surrounding landscapes in particular. The Fish House is said to be a “modern tropical bungalow” that is perfectly integrated in its climate and environment, as its architecture and open spaces encourage natural ventilation and its floor to ceiling windows allow unobstructed views of the sea. Here is more information from the architects, regarding this project’s sustainable elements : “The idea of connection is reinforced by having the basement level media-room with a u-shaped acrylic window which allows diffuse natural light in and also views out into the pool. The curved roofs, which symbolize the sea waves, also emphasize the idea of the nearby sea. These are almost totally covered with thin bendable photovoltaic panels supplying enough energy to the house, while the remaining area is used as a green roof giving residents some outdoor leisure spaces.”

These living room sets are part of New’2010 collection from Guessegu called GIORNOPERGIORNO. Even though the collection consist not only from black and white furniture, these are the most modern and minimalist ones. The whole project goal was to design modular furniture solution for any contemporary living space by giving people maximum flexibility. A lot of things available in collection: open and closed containers, bookcases, shelves, tables and chairs, benches and many other furniture pieces that offer endless creative possibilities in designing simple yet practical rooms. Besides being available not only in black and white the collection finishes range from natural wood to high glossy lacquered laminate.

Contemporary Residence House Designed by Ehrlich Architects

Here is an eye-catching contemporary house from Ehrlich Architects, a studio founded in 1979. The Zeidler residence is located in Aptos, California in a magical space, overlooking the Pacific Ocean and a few steps away from the beach. Built for a couple and their family, the structure is really impressive in size (3,500 square feet) and has several delimited living spaces. The indoors and exterior were designed in order to take advantage of the site’s potential to the maximum. Large windows and balconies ensure a large amount of natural light and the overall openness of the residence. The interior is very modern, featuring tasteful arrangements and a pale but intriguing color palette. Three king sized bedrooms ensure accommodation for friends and visitors. Fluffy and soft, it seems like the perfect place to take a nap. In fact, the designer resembles its shape to that of a protective nest, a place where sleep can be uninterrupted. The unusual couch also has mobile extremities which makes the pillows a lot easier to grab, taking comfort to a superior level. Enveloppe Sofa was created both for adults and children and comes in 140 different colors, in order to be easily integrated in any type of contemporary interior.

I was introduced to The Red River , an organization based in North East India by Kakoli Das (one of the founders) a few weeks back and I loved their home and lifestyle products.

The Red River acts as a medium between the weavers from the North East and the markets, that will help them with sustainable income.
